This Song "Kinda Smacks" Royal & the Serpent and Gayle's New Collaboration

After weeks of teasing their collaboration on Instagram and Tiktok, Royal & the Serpent and Gayle have finally released their single called "Kinda Smacks". After the song was released the duo then released a music video and it's definitely not "wack".

As soon as the song was released fans rushed onto Tiktok to make videos to the pairs song and it seemed to be an instant hit. A lot of fans were excited to see that the pair had decided to work together again as they really enjoyed their version of ABCDEFU.

This single is the first single that Royal & the Serpent has released since their "Rat Trap" series which featured lots of double-sided singles that were released sporadically throughout 2023. This is also Gayle's first collaboration of 2024 and fans are really excited to see what Gayle has to offer throughout the rest of the year, especially after featuring on the Barbie album with her single called "butterflies."

It's definitely a playful pop song that has a lot of elements of alternative rock and the song is bound to live in your head rent free. It's very catchy and the lyrics are something that a lot of teenagers can relate to. The song is about liking your best friends ex boyfriends' music and it might seem like a simple idea but when you think about it it's something that can be kind of funny where you're talking about it. There is a lot of energy in the song and you can just feel the connection between Royal & the Serpent and Gayle. The song may sound short whilst you're listening to it but it is definitely a song that you can just replay over and over again and that's what is so special about this song. From powerful bass riffs to the relatable lyrics it's bound to become one of your new favourite songs.
